DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1959 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Very popular late fifties step design in original factory molded powder blue color. Has original working clock display light which is very rare to fond in any clock radio from the era.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded powder blue plastic. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Clock sliver color cover has no micro inclusions or cracks by 12 o'clock which is common. No other cracks, chips or major scratches. Color matching back cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or major scratches. No melted heat vanes.
KNOBS: Original matching metal factory knobs are securely attached. Original matching factory clock knobs. No stripped internal post slots.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front silver factory painted raised General Electric logo is in excellent condition no rub off.
DIAL LIGHT: Original clock light works and lights brightly! The tuning dial light follows the movement of the tuning pointer. Nifty! Clock back light is working! Replaced with modern LED for long life and greater brightness.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer works. Sleep timer works. Snooze button works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original gray power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. Slightly stiff. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Color matching back cover is original. No cracks, no chips, no major scratches.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Not totally missing bottom factory labels. This bottom label is often missing on this model series.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
