Casabella Ivory 1947 Jewel Model 505 Pin-up AM Vacuum Tube Clock Radio Rare Model Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by Jewel in 1947 in excellent working and physical condition. This clock radio was originally designed to be wall mounted but it can also be used as a tabletop or mantletop clock radio.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial with external antenna attachment included.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded ivory white urea plastic cabinet. Original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted, no touch up not over sprayed. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. There is one small hairline crack on top by the back edge. Tuning window clear cover is original, no cracks, no warping, slightly yellowed, securely attached.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent. No alarm. This is just a clock. Gold clock face is in excellent condition with no cracks, greening or oxidation. Raised red painted numbers are clear and readable some flaking or rub of red paint.
KNOBS: Original matching ivory color factory urea plastic tuning and volume knobs are securely attached no broken attach posts. Volume knob is cracked but securely attached. Tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights up brightly. Jewel logo on clock face lights up when radio turns on.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is in excellent condition. Has wall mount hole which is sturdy and strong enough to hang onto wall with a picture hanger.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing original factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Looks like it was used in a kitchen for a long time.
