DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Olympic in 1957 excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio is over 50 years old! Rare and desirable model from Olympic in late fifties time frame in bright original molded WATERMELON PINK. Yummy. Like Jolly Rancher Watermelon Pink. The previous owner's great-grandmother used it back in the 50's and 60's. Manufactured in Long Island City New York! How do you like that? Unusual offset clock design combined with its unseen bright watermelon pink hue makes this piece a one-of-kind design! The plastic cabinet is in excellent condition. No repaints no repairs needed. There is the slightest hairline crack starting on top at the back. So small it would be hard to photograph. No other cracks, chips, melted or missing plastic. No missing pieces. Original volume and tuning knob. The tuning knob has one radial crack that has been repaired. Volume knob was cracked in multiple pieces but then reglued. Functional but not perfect condition. The little clock on/off/alarm knob is a new replacement and securely attached. The clock is reasonably quiet and keeps accurate time. No major clock motor humming, buzzing, or cranking sound. The clock bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. No cracks, hazing, or yellowing on dial face. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. No chips, tarnish, or bubbling on the clock fascia plate is evenly tarnished. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. This radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The original cable has been re-attached at the backing board and strengthened with a metal clip for stress relief. Cord is in excellent condition with no other splits, cracks, or exposed wiring. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Original backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
