DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by General Electric in 1941 in very good physical and excellent working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is handcrafted solid wood construction. Made just before start of WWII. No cracks or chips. Cabinet side fluting shows areas of finish loss. Wood top is not heavily scratched or water stained. No separating veneers. Couple loose seams but solid overall. Not refinished no touch up not over sprayed. All original factory colors and finishes that shows 80 plus year of travels.
KNOBS: The volume and tuning knobs are original matching and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logos. original General Electric decal is intact no rub off.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights brightly.
CLOCK: no clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board has been reinforced and securely mounted.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is intact.
