Sahara Taupe 1959 Arvin Model 2585 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Clean and Gorgeous Looking and Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: Rare color for this model. Tabletop tube AM clock alarm radio manufactured by Arvin in 1959 time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Dual speakers for better sound quality. Working tone control adjust high and low audio tones.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory shiny molded tan taupe plastic. Usually these models are available in turquoise and coral. This taupe tan is rare. Never seen one like it. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. No heat cracks on top or melted heat vents in back. A heat shield has been added internally on the underside to prevent possibility of heat cracking in the future. The front bezel is without through cracks or chips or major scratches. Some micro web stress or temperature caused cracks on white front bezel. All lettering is in excellent condition. Brand new replacement grill cloth with period correct factory fabric. No rips, no stains, no runs, no funny smells. Front clear tuning cover is in excellent condition with no cracks no hazing and with clear numbers.
KNOBS: Original knobs are matching and securely attached slightly yellowed with age. No missing gold metal inserts. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing Arvin logo. No chips on Arvin lettering or "Twin Speaker" label
DIAL LIGHT: Tuning dial light works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both intermediate frequency transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to insure against undesirable static noise in the future. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: Original thick power cord and plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board with this model. Color matching plastic back cover is in excellent condition.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom factory labels. Says Coronado Model A43-8267 on tube layout diagram.
