Charcoal 1958 Arvin Model 2581 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Great Receiver! What a Cutie!

DESCRIPTION:  Rare and very desirable from the late fifties venerable but somewhat quirky Arvin Noblitt-Sparks company which is actually still in business making car parts. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1958 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Cabinet and grill are original factory molded charcoal greyish color. There are a small hairline crack on top from the back edge. Original factory molded colors. No repaint, no over spray no touch ups. None needed. Matching original white knobs are intact, securely attached, yellowed with age. The front grill factory trim paint is slightly rubbed off by the front top center section. Tuning knob is in excellent condition with no pitting, rust or chips. Volume works with smooth even attenuation across entire range. The volume knob is not cracked but slightly warped so it does not rotate on an even plane. But it is not warped enough so that its range of motion is blocked. This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. Gets surprisingly better reception than most other radios. Slight rub-off on volume and station dial lettering. Slight fading throughout of the white front grill accent paint. No dial light not designed with one. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and polarized safety plug are brand new condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The original backing board is in excellent condition with crisp square corners. No missing factory labels. Factory serial number sticker is not missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected inside and out. . All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.

COLOR: charcoal grey, seems slightly blue-ish
