Egyptian Turquoise and Gold 1959 Bulova Model 100 AM Vacuum Tube Clock Radio Simply Fabulous! Works Great!
DESCRIPTION: This antique Bulova clock radio has a fine jewelry look to it. High quality manufacturing is apparent inside and out. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Bulova in 1959 timeframe in excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent plus condition. No cracks, chips or major scratches. This radio is over 50 years old! All original everything. The "Bulova" logo is in excellent condition with no chipped off letters. Front gold metal grill is original with no dents, warping, or dings. No oxidation or rust. The knobs are in excellent condition. No missing little clock or alarm set knobs. Often some or all of these little gold clock knobs go missing over the years. These knobs are specific to Bulova Models 100 and 120 only. No other manufacturer or model uses these knobs. The clock face gold lettering is in excellent condition. Usually there is more rub off due to normal use. The volume and tuning knobs are original greened with age and normal use which is common. The clear dial face has no cracks and is clear. The clock face is clean with no tarnishing or greening. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping no sticky spots. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The clock motor is relatively silent. There's a faint whirring, no grinding, no ticking noises. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. There is a appliance timer function in back. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in excellent condition with crisp square corners and slightly faded but read-able print. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
