Bubble Ivory 1946 Clarion Model C100X Vacuum Tube AM Radio Excellent Condition Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Table top AM radio receiver manufactured by Clarion in 1946 timeframe in excellent working and physical condition. Rare manufacturer rare model. Has bulbous bosomy deco look. Warm comforting color and shape.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in excellent condition. Original factory painted ivory Bakelite . Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Few paint dings throughout. Front tuning dial cover has small crack.
KNOBS: Original Bakelite knobs are matching and securely attached.
LOGO: Fair condition. Partially rubbed off and yellowed with age.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights brightly.
SPEAKER: 4" speaker.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Has two part volume and phono switch.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
BACKING BOARD: factory original securely attached with little antenna clips. Has internal antenna so does not need external antenna for good reception.
