Wood Grained and White Beauty Mid Century 1961 Zenith AM/FM Solid State Clock Radio Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop solid state transistor AM/FM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1961 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. When this radio was new transistors were a miracle of modern science. Receives AM and FM stations clearly and loudly across the dial using internal antenna. No external antenna needed. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Switch from AM to FM with a turn of the switch. Original factory molded white plastic with faux wood grain sides and top no repaint, no over spray, no touch up. None needed. This vintage radio is over 65 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The metal aluminum tuning disk dial rotates when tuning works great no slipping no sticky spots. AM FM selector works. Automatic Volume Control (AVC) which helps reception selectivity works. Volume works with even smooth attenuation across the range. Tuning and volume knobs are not missing center gold metal insert. No dial light not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Clock time and alarm set function works. Alarm goes off at correct set time. Alarm awake to music only works and goes off at the right set time. Sleep timer works. Original power cord and plug is in excellent condition no breaks, no fraying no exposed wiring. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is excellent original intact with no cracks no warping crisp edges and corners. Bottom factory label is missing. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
