DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM/FM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1963 time frame in excellent plus working and physical condition. These wooden AM FM vacuum tube clock radios are rare and signify the end of an era in American made consumer electronics. Receives AM and FM stations clearly and loudly across the dial using internal antenna. No external antenna needed. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Switch from AM to FM with a flip of the switch. Original factory wood cabinet, Refinished top to bottom with clear coat to match factory texture and sheen. Looks brand new! This vintage radio is over 65 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The metal aluminum tuning aluminum fascia is in excellent condition. The green clock face is in excellent condition. Nylon grill cloth is durable no rips no runs no separation at the edges. AM FM selector works. Automatic Volume Control (AVC) which helps reception selectivity works. Volume works with even smooth attenuation across the range. Tuning and volume knobs are not missing center gold metal inserts. No dial light stopped working but modern LED can be added for an extra charge. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Clock time and alarm set function works. Alarm goes off at correct set time. Alarm awake to music only works and goes off at the right set time. Sleep timer works. Original power cord and plug is in excellent condition no breaks, no fraying no exposed wiring. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is excellent original intact with no cracks no warping crisp edges and corners. Bottom factory label is not missing. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
