Mahogany Swirl 1955 General Electric Model 427 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Lighted Beam Tuning!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1955 time frame excellent working and physical condition. Attractive raised center tuning register with lighted beam dial! The light is situated behind the tuning indicator and rotates as you tune the radio! Cool gimmick. Original factory molded color in reddish burgundy brown swirl. No repaints. No overspray. None needed. Factory glossy and shiny. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or missing plastic. This radio is over 60 years old! Missing the bottom label. You pull the volume knob outward to turn the radio on. The gold dial face is in excellent condition no rust no greening no discoloration. The tuning bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing no cracks no major scratches. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on radio dial red lettering. Pretty color combo. The GE grill center logo crest is missing. Original knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents, so this radio has another 60+ years or more of playing time! Phono jack works but you need an old RCA jack and it only plays mono. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
