AM FM BABY BLUE and White 1963 Philco Model L926-124 Tube Radio Rare Functional With Issues
DESCRIPTION: Vacuum tube AM and FM models are rare. This one has some early sixties design elements with its light blue and white color scheme but maintains a vacuum based design which more pre-sixties. `There is a crack on top left side. There is a patch which has melted by left top side. There is a small abrasion on top center where it looks like the cord was wrapped around the radio for a very long time. There are cracks on the clear tuning dial. Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. Like all designs of this era, you need a FM antenna to receive stations. Any household wiring will do but you can still buy antenna wire at any electronics store. Excellent mid century design! The knobs are securely attached. The chrome paint is missing in some places on the knobs due to normal use. This radio is 55 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. No slipping. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. No dial light. Not designed with one. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
