Express Red 1956 Emerson 824 Tube AM Clock Radio Totally Restored!

DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Emerson in 1956 excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition with no cracks, or splits. There are a few chips along the edges. No cracks on top. Wow! The front grill in excellent condition. No missing label on front speaker grill. The knobs are in excellent condition. The little on/off switch is present and securely attached. The clear dial face clear but yellowed. There is a crack on the clock front clear cover. Please see the photo close-up. There are small scratches on the clock face. The clock lettering is a little rubbed off. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Three of the original rubber feet are included (not pictured in photo). New replacement rubber feet will be included but not yet installed (not pictured). All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keeps accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
