DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1962 in near mint condition! Original factory molded color not painted. Original factory applied grill paint. No repaints, oversprays, or touch ups to exterior cabinet. None needed. Contours and shape resemble Mansard influenced architecture designs of 50s and 60s tract houses. In vogue design throughout 1960s. Then, poof. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in near mint condition. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. There is a small pencil tip chip on the lower right front corner. This radio is over 60 years old! Grill is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, rust, or warping. Front metal faschia is in excellent condition with no rust, oxidation, or major rub-off. The knobs are in excellent condition. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. The tuning indicator button is in excellent condition. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. Someone once added a phono jack and toggle switch to the back panel but has since been removed. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The power cord base is reinforced with some electrical tape to prolong life against cable fatigue. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
