DESCRIPTION: This is the Cadillac of late fifties tube clock radios. GE pulled out all the stops on this model and came up with a defining statement in features and aesthetics. It is no surprise this model sold in large numbers when it was introduced. It has a lot of features not found among the competition like a dial light that swivels with the tuning indicator! Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1959 time frame in excellent+ working condition. This clock radio is still exceptionally shiny retaining some of its original factory gloss. Very popular late fifties step design in original factory molded pink color. No repaints, touch ups, over sprays. None needed. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, chips or missing plastic which is rare for this model considering all the heat vanes on the back. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing labels. The knobs are in very good condition. These knobs normally show rust and tarnish due to normal wear and age. The edges of these GE knobs often look chewed up like a dog toy. But, not the knobs on the radio. The metal caps are shiny with only a little bit of tarnish and oxidation. The black dial face is clear without hazing due to age but no stress cracks. There is an inclusion in the dial face that is visible under direct light at a certain angle. Does not appear to be a crack all the way through. The radio tuning bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The clock set screw is not missing its knurled knob but setting functions. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. The dial light works. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The original power cord has been replaced. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
