DESCRIPTION: Portable vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Travler Karenola in 1950 in excellent working and physical condition. Operates on standard household voltage. No need for batteries.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. This vintage portable radio plays great with or without an external antenna attachment. This radio is 75 years old! Loud and clear sounding!
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory red leatherette covered wood cabinet in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, no major scratches. Solid construction. Not repainted, not over sprayed or touched up. Has small area tape residue on right top edge. Original front ivory plastic is in excellent condition no cracks, chips, or major scratches. Top leather handle is intact, functional, but nearing the end of its usable life. Use sparingly and gently. Handle buckles are solid but oxidized.
KNOBS: All original factory matching green plastic knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. Power on/off battery switch works. Volume works. The tuning dial and pointer works, no slipping no sticky spots.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
BATTERIES: No batteries needed. This radio was originally designed to operate on batteries or standard AC household outlet. The battery power option is not available unless you have proper size and voltage batteries. Not sure where to find.
AC POWER SUPPLY: Included. Powers off standard US household outlet 120VAC 117Hz.
POWER CORD: Original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, electrical tape repair, or exposed wiring.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance in the future. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
