BLUETOOTH: This radio original vacuum tube circuitry is retained, repaired, and modified to play Bluetooth as well as AM/FM radio. The internal circuit is not gutted. Repeat: the internal electronics have not been gutted and replaced with modern electronics. All modifications are reversible. In Bluetooth mode, plays Bluetooth wirelessly from any iPhone, iPad, Android, Huawei, Google phone, etc over 30 ft. Only through Retro Radio Farm, Bluetooth circuitry is completely internal and integrated with the original AM receiver inside the radio! No external plugs, cables, or peripheral devices! SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and shortwave stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Clear and resonant with excellent selectivity and sensitivity. Original dual 6.5” speakers no holes or rips no patches or separated cone. Very loud player.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is factory constructed wood cabinet. Completely repainted and refinished to mirror glossy perfection in original black lacquer. Over spray on the bottom like it came from the factory. The wood cabinet is strong and sturdy. The controls panel and aluminum trim is in excellent original condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. The left side metal trim strip has some rust pinpricks. No paint rub off. Function lettering and numbering is not worn off. Grill fabric is original with no rips, no fraying, no separation along edges. Very high quality material probably hard and expensive to produce in a recently war torn country.
KNOBS: Factory original matching tuning and volume knobs are silver chrome with black centers in excellent condition with no paint flaking or rub off.
LOGO: Original Sanyo logo is in excellent condition and securely attached.
DIAL LIGHTS: Original function lamps all work as designed. There are four function lamps at the top of the tuning scale: “hi-fi,” “dx,” “short,” and “phono.” All work as designed in response to selected function. There are three lamps for tone selector positions: high, medium, and low.
MAGIC EYE: Original magic eye is a unique feature rarely seen in radios in the 50s. Even rarer to find on a 50’s model from Japan.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No back.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels. Inside factory labels intact. All Japanese printing.
