Alabaster Ivory White 1954 DeWald Model H-537 AM Shortwave Vacuum Tube Radio Excellent Condition and Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM and shortwave radio manufactured by DeWald in 1954 in excellent working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Beautiful factory molded Bakelite cabinet is in excellent condition with factory ivory white paint. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. There are minor paint dings throughout. The front gold metal fascia tuning and volume panels are in excellent condition with some tarnish but no rust no dents no dings. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
KNOBS: All three brown matching clock knobs are present and securely attached. The brown volume knob is original. The brown tuning knob is original. The brown shortwave and AM band selector switch knob is original.
POWER CALE: Replacement power cable and plug is in excellent working condition no breaks no exposed wires no brittleness.
CLOCK: No clock.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance in the future. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: The original backing board is in excellent condition.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
