DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock alarm radio manufactured by Philco in 1956 time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded seafoam turquoise plastic. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. There is a repaired short hairline crack that begins on the back top edge but does not continue across the top. The top is reinforced from underneath to reduce possibility of further cracking. The clock and tuning clear cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches and securely attached. The clock black back panerl is in excellent condition with no rust, runs, oxidation trails, or stains. All clock numbers are clear and readable.
KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are matching and securely attached with no cracks. Original matching gold metal color inserts are not missing on volume knob. Gold metal center insert is missing on the tuning knob.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio and radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front clock face black back panel is clean no dents or dings, not warped, no water stains. Clock function matching black plastic levers are original, tarnished, securely attached. Usually one or nboth of these flaps are broken off.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CABLE: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factopry backing board is in excellent condition with no cracks, and securely mounted.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is intact.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
