Fleetwood Black Vintage 1953 RCA Victor Model 6-XD-5 "The Glendon" Vacuum Tube Radio Dual Speaker Sounds and Looks Great!
DESCRIPTION: Cool mid-century styling featuring Cadillac-looking egg crate grill in mirror glossy black! Great looking radio with a funny model name. This tabletop vacuum tube AM radio was manufactured by RCA Victor in 1953 in excellent physical and working condition!
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory mirror glossy molded black back and gray front grill plastic. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. There are two repaired hairline cracks on the bottom. Front slate gray grill is original molded color. with no cracks and no chips. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted, no touch up, not over sprayed. Front tuning aluminum bezel is clean shiny no dents no dings no pitting no oxidation.
KNOBS: Factory original matching knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached not yellowed with age. No missing knob gold metal inserts. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front RCA Victor Little Nipper logo applique is not missing.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
CLOCK: No clock
POWER CORD: original power cord and plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Factory backing board is in excellent condition and securely mounted. All original four factory t-pins for backing board mounting.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
