Bianca Ivory 1958 Arvin Model 2581 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Terrific! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1958 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded ivory plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks or major scratches or missing pieces. Small chip on front top left side. Usually this model has top back edge hairline crack but not this one!
KNOBS: Original color matched volume and tuning knobs in excellent condition with no cracks, or chips or warping. No broken attach posts.
LOGO: Arvin black factory painted raised logo is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: None.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact securely attached. All factory printing is readable.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
