Aqua Blue and White 1960 Sylvania Model 5C11 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great! Rare Color!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured Sylvania in 1960 time frame excellent physical and working condition. Rare color.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET: Cabinet is in excellent condition. Original factory molded light turquoise color plastic sides and back with white factory painted front. Not repainted. Not touched up. Not over sprayed. No cracks or major scratches. Small chip on front top left edge corner. The front white fcactory painted grill is in excellent condition. Usually, the front white factory painted grill suffers from paint chips or some rub but not this one. Very rare color combo.
KNOBS: Original little clock knobs are still present and securely attached. No broken flaps. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Slight rub off numbers on tuning dial. Original color matching volume knob is in excellent condition.
LOGOS: No missing logos. Original Sylvania center grill logo is intact, though slightly faded.
CLOCK: The clock works and keep accurate time. The clock motor is quiet on this one. The alarm works and goes off at correct set time. The clock and alarm set function work. Sleep timer works. Wake to radio and buzzer or wake to radio no buzzer. The clock clear cover is in excellent condition and transparent not yellowing no cracks or chips. No stress fractures, yellowing, or major scratches. Black clock panel is in excellent condition with no rust, oxidation trails, or water stains. No rub off rub-off in clock number lettering.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Bottom factory labels are not missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. This radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time!
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
POWER CABLE: The original white power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks or brittleness. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board. Nice matching aqua color.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near kitchen for much of its life.
