Mid Century Curved Wood Delight 1947 Admiral Model 6T11-5B1 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Works Great!

DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Admiral in the 1947 time fame in excellent working and physical condition.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original hand formed curved wood shape. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. No peeling or chipped veneers. Not repainted, no touch up, no over spray. There is a scratch on the top left. Some veneer loss at the front bottom edge. No other scratches, abrasions chipped veneers or separated seams. Metal mesh grill is in excellent condition with no dents or dings no rust. Clear tuning window is not cracked, no chips, no micro-inclusions, no flaking numbers.

WORKING CONDITION: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.

LOGO: No missing logos

KNOBS: The original tuning knob is in excellent condition no cracks no chips securely attached.

LETTERING: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial numbering. The tuning dial works fine no slipping or sticky spots.

DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one.

SOUND QUALITY: There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. 

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of tolerance paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. 

BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is in excellent condition. Factory printing is faded not readable except for the model number stamping

POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.

FACTORY LABEL: No missing factory labels.
