Sandalwood Beige 1964 GE General Electric Model C-409E AM Vintage Radio Sounds Terrific Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock alarm radio manufactured by General Electric in 1964 in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory shiny molded in beige tan color plastic. Original factory molded color through and through. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. No major scratches or missing pieces. The front clock and tuning clear cover has a small hairline crack left of the sleep timer. No chips or hazing, and securely attached. All front top clock function lettering is in excellent condition.
KNOBS: Original knobs are color matching and securely attached. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots. Gold metal center caps are shiny not oxidized. All clock function little knobs are orginal and excellent condition.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No clock or dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio and radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front sliver clock face is in excellent condition, clean, no rust pitting, warping or water staining.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Not designed with one. Back beige tan cover is in excellent condition. No melted, cracked or chipped heat vents in back.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
