Coppertone 1964 Silvertone Model 6036 Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Excellent Condition and Great Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by "Amazon-of-the-20th-Century" Sears Corporation under their Silvertone brand in 1964-time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded plastic beige back and side with a copper tan front and bottom. The ivory beige back is yellowed marbled grained. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Clock clear cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, scratches or broken attachment tabs no micro inclusions. Usually this large clear expansive cover has cracks. Aluminum printed clock face is in excellent condition with no rust pits no oxidation trails no water stains.
KNOBS: Original matching factory gold knobs securely attached. Original factory gold metal knob inserts are not missing. Usually, these metal inserts are missing some or all. Factory original matching two clock function knobs are in excellent condition, no broken flaps or stripped internal slots.
LOGO: No missing logos
DIAL LIGHT: Slightly lights up the radio dial with a warm red glow. Rare gas bulb clock dial illumination. Gas bulb never needs replacing.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer works. Sleep timer works. Snooze button works. Appliance timer in back works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance in the future. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original gray power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: no backing board, not designed with one. Color matching back cover is original.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
