Seafoam White 1954 Admiral Model 5T36 Vacuum Tube Radio Big Speaker Sound! Rare Color Combo!
DESCRIPTION: Multi-contoured profile with large concave grill is a unique looking design. Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Admiral in 1954-55 time frame in very good overall physical condition and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This model features a 6" speaker cone for improved sound quality.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is molded Bakelite repainted in original seafoam green and white color combo. No cracks, chips, or missing pieces. The top factory seafoam paint is scratched. The front gold mesh grill cover is in excellent condition with no holes or cracks.
KNOBS: Tuning and and volume knobs are in excellent condition. No missing gold metal center inserts. Tuning disc pointer is in excellent condition with no cracks no scratches and securely mounted.
LOGO: Admiral raised gold painted logo has some rub off.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition and securely mounted. Factory printing is readable.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: bottom factory label is over-sprayed and partially missing.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
