Meringue Yellow 1953 Firestone Model 4-A-108 Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Vintage tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Firestone in 1953 in excellent working and physical condition. Original molded Bakelite factory painted yellow.
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded Bakelite cabinet is in excellent condition with no chips, no major scratches. Factory painted light yellow has paint dings and scratched. There is a hairline crack along the bottom that has been repaired. The front aluminum decorative trim piece is original excellent condition with no rust, oxidation or rub off. Some tarnishing. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. Factory gold metal grill screen is in excellent condition with no dents, dings or flaking paint. Front decorative round applique is original, unique, and excellent condition.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
KNOBS: The volume and tuning knobs are original matching yellow color plastic. Tuning knob works with no slipping, sticky, or stuck spots. The tuning knob is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or broken attachment post and securely attached. Original tuning pointer is in excellent condition.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
POWER CORD: New replacement power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent working condition with no breaks, splits, or exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact in excellent condition. Back factory printing is readable.
FACTORY LABELS: No missing labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
