Ivory White Bakelite 1947 Crosley 58TL Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great! Very Good Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Crosley in 1947 time frame in excellent working and very good physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory brown molded Bakelite. and factory painted in ivory white paint. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Not repainted, no over spray, no touch up. Original factory paint has dings and scratches throughout. Broadcast frequency numbers on tuning glass are clear and readable.
KNOBS: Knobs are original, matching, and securely attached. Tuning dial works across the dial with no slipping or sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: no clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Antenna loop is internal.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is intact and readable.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used, lovingly displayed, or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet.
