DESCRIPTION: This radio was introduced around the time of the 1939 World's Fair in Flushing, New York where Firestone Tire and Rubber had its pavilion. Very attractive bullet shape design has streamline look of the post war industrial era before Art Deco. Tabletop AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in late thirties timeframe.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is plaskon molded cabinet. Plaskon is a harder denser predecessor of modern plastic. All original factory molded colors. Not repainted no touch up no over spray. None needed. There is only one small hairline crack on bottom lowest grill vane left side. Does not continue through length of vane or back inside. Most probably caused by temperatures changes over the years not impact or shock. No other cracks, chips, splits, abrasions, or major cracks. Plaskon plastic is one of the early forms of plastic. It is a more brittle and dense material. It is not unusual to find surviving examples that have hairline cracks as result of temperature fluctuations over time. More expensive and rarer than Bakelite.

The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
