DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in late 1950s in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is excellent condition. The red back part is original factory molded red color plastic with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. The white front part is original molded white color plastic with no chips, no yellowing small hairline crack on lower front bottm corner. All original factory molded colors through and through. No cracks, chips or major scratches on the clear clock window.
KNOBS: Matching original knobs are intact, securely attached. Tuning knob is in excellent condition with no pitting, rust or chips. Original volume knob. Volume works with smooth even attenuation across entire range. The tuning dial works fine. Original matching clear little clock knobs are securely attached.
LOGO: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on gold metal foil lettering. Has been reglued slightly wavy.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both intermediate frequency transformers have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
CLOCK: The clock works and keep accurate time. The clock motor is silent. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The sleep timer works.The power cord and plug is cool original red in good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CORD: The original red color power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
