Tuxedo Blue 1960 Motorola Model C11B AM Vacuum Tube Clock Alarm Clock Radio! Sounds Wonderful! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: This tabletop vacuum tube AM radio was manufactured by Motorola in 1960 or 1961 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Has Mansard shape clock hood as seen in early sixties tract style suburban homes.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded in light blue plastic. Not repainted, no touch up, not over sprayed. All original factory molded colors through and through. No cracks, chips or major scratches. No chips on front vertical grill vanes. Often, the right top corner grill vanes are chipped off. Classic mid-century modern design in a highly desirable and rare color. Clear clock bezel is in excellent condition with no chips or major scratches. There are some light oxidation trails at the bottom of gold metal clock back panel. Front alumin trim panel is in excellent condition no dents or dings or oxidation trails. Usually find these with oxidation or rust trails. Top snooze button works no internal cracks.
KNOBS: Original matching volume and tuning knobs are in excellent condition with no cracked attach posts. Original clock function knobs are matching and securely attached slightly yellowed with age. No missing silver metal knob inserts. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: Tuining dial light works and lights brightly. Replaced with modern LED for longer life.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio and radio with buzzer. Sleep timer side arm works. Top snooze button works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure stronger reception and static free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: Original power cord and plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Color matching backing board is in excellent condition with no cracks, rips, some water stains. Factory printing is readable.
FACTORY LABELS: One of the bottom factory labels is missing. The other label is in excellent condition.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used, lovingly displayed, or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet.
