DESCRIPTION: Portable vacuum tube portable AM radio manufactured by RCA Victor in 1955 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
BATTERY: battery is not included. Works with standard AC household power using internal power cord. Replacement batteries are available through some specialty manufacturers.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory gray which has yellowed on top, front, sides, and back to an olive green. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Front aluminum grill is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, bent slats, rust or oxidation. Tuning clear cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no inclusions. Back cover hinge is in excellent condition, secure, not loose, and aligned. Leather handle is in excellent condition minor loose seams under the handle wrap. Aluminum handle base mounts are in excellent condition.
KNOBS: Original factory matching tuning and volume knobs in excellent condition.
LOGO: No missing logos
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. no designed with one. Electronics compartment stays shut securely.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels inside the electronics front compartment.
