DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by General Electric in 1952 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial with external antenna attachment included.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded brown Bakelite cabinet. Original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted, no touch up not over sprayed. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor has no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Clear plastic clock cover is securely attached no cracks. Clock and radio function lettering is clear and readable. Clock back panel is in excellent condition with no rust, fading, oxidation or water stains.
KNOBS: Original matching ivory color factory plastic tuning and volume knobs are securely attached no broken attach posts. Ivory color plastic clock function knobs are original, securely attached in excellent condition. Tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Has original built in metal screen heat shield. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is in excellent condition no cracks.= securely mounted.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing original factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Looks like it was used in a kitchen for a long time.
