Mocha Brown Bakelite 1941 Motorola Model 56X1 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Vintage wood tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1941 in excellent physical and working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Bakelite cabinet is in very good structural condition. Has hairline cracks on the bottom that have been repaired. No repaint or refinish, no over spray, no touch up. Buckets of real aged retro vibe! The knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The clear tuning glass is securely attached no cracks or scratches. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping no sticky spots. Tuning dial light works and lights brightly! All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in near mint condition with crisp square corners and clear print. The power cord and plug were replaced and are new with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
