Imperial Gold 1966 Arvin Model 16R21 AM Solid State Transistor Radio Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Nice Arvin vintage solid state transistor radio. Vintage tabletop AM radio manufactured by Arvin in the mid-sixties time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Gold in the sixties was the new pink and turquoise. That and avocado.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. All original factory molded light beige-ish yellowish plastic called "Imperial Gold" through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Aluminum silver front controls bezel has a few scuffs and dings, but no dents, no waviness, and seurely attached.
KNOBS: Original matching knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. No broken attach posts. Volume knob and silver metal center inserts are in excellent condition no tarnish.
LOGO: No missing logo.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
SPEAKER: Original 4" speaker
CLOCK: no clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safewty polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels. Back factory printing is readable.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is intact and securely mounted. Factory info printing is readable with water stains no fading.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
