Banana Yellow 1957 Motorola Model 5T22 "Dragster" AM Vacuum Tube Radio Great Sounding! Very Rare Desirable Model!
DESCRIPTION: It's not often we see one of these in this color in excellent condition! There a few collectors out there who have been waiting years to get one of these! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1957 in excellent working and physical condition. Original factory yellow molded color. Was also available in ivory, chocolate brown, and red. Original yellow molded color is among the rarest of radios made during this era.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded yellow plastic in excellent plus condition. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. All original yellow factory molded colors through and through. No repaint, over spray or touch up. Front tuning gold insert is original, securely attached, no rub off, with oxidation patterns. No faded or rubbed of numbers.
KNOBS: All volume and tuning knobs are original brown color plastic and securely attached real clean. Volume and tuning knobs are not missing center gold metal inserts. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGOS: No missing factory logos. Motorola logo strip is original securely attached no oxidation, faded, or rubbed off letters. Securely attached. Excellent condition.
CLOCK: No clock
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CABLE: Factory original power cable and plug are in excellent working condition.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition with no cracks or rips. Original factory antenna and antenna housing is in excellent condition with no broken attach tabs.
