DESCRIPTION: Rare AM and FM vacuum tube radio manufactuered by GE General Electric in 1963-65 time frame. Mid century modern style design with simulated walnut grain finish and gold woven tweed fabric in excellent working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly around the dial with or without need of external antenna attachment. Clear and resonant with excellent selectivity and sensitivity. Brand new FM dipole antenna is included for even better reception. Dual 6" speaker spound is not commonly found in radios of this period.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded brown plastic cabinet with simulated walnut grain finish. Not repainted. No touch ups. No over spray. The ivory plastic controls panel and aluminum trim is in excellent original condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. Function lettering and numbering is not worn off. Grill fabric is original with no rips, clean, no water stains, no loose fabric edges. There is a repaired chip on the lower front right edge. Small spot on top by front right corner where the wood grain pain is worn off.
KNOBS: Factory original matching metal tuning, tone and and volume knobs are silver chrome with in excellent condition with no paint flaking or rub off. Pull volume On Off switch outward to turn the radio on. Band selector switch is original and works. Dual tuning discs rotate in unison as designed. Not mis-aligned.
LOGO: Original logo on left corner of grill is in excellent condition and securely attached not cracked.
DIAL LIGHT: Rare orange neon gas bulbs for AM and FM light up alternately depending on which band is selected. Very neat feature not commonly found in models of this period.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory pinhole fiberboard cover is in excellent condition and securely mounted.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original factory back label is intact and readable.
