DESCRIPTION: If you were blind folded in a high end audio store back in 1956 comparing a bunch of different AM FM radios back to back, this is the one you would say, "I'll take that one!" Tabletop tube AM/FM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1956 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. 

SOUND QUALITY: Stellar. Receives AM and FM stations clearly and loudly around the dial using internal antenna. No external antenna needed. FM dipole antenna wire will be included for even better reception. Switch from AM to FM with a turn of the switch. 

CABINET CONDITION: Solid wood construction cabinet finished in cherry color and grained veneer. No wood cabinet cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original factory finish is aged checked throughout with minor flaking on top. Nice vintage looking wood stained and clear coat finish. No repainted, no over spray, no touch up. None needed. Front beige tweed fabric grill is original fabric n excellent condition securely attached no separated edges. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on bottom front edge lettering. The gold metal tuning circle is not oxidized slightly tarnished in areas but still shiny. No rub off on dial numbers.

LOGOS: Zenith factory logos are intact securely attached.

KNOBS: AM FM selector works. Volume works with even smooth attenuation across the range. Volume and tone knobs are original chrome paint has entirely rubbed off to white. Original tuning knob and band selector works chrome paint rubbed off to some extent. Tuning knob works no sticky spots or slipping. Band selector AM FM AVC works.

DIAL LIGHT: Power indicator light works.

POWER CORD: Original power cable and plug is in excellent condition securely attached no breaks, no fraying no exposed wiring.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. 

BACKING BOARD: Backing board is original intact with no cracks no warping crisp edges and corners.

FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory label is intact and readable.
