DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio manufactured by General Electric in 1952 time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original glossy factory molded cherry red plastic. Original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted, not touched up oo over sprayed. Not needed. Clear original tuning clear glass clock window is in excellent condition, not cracked. Clock display back panel is in excellent condition with no rust or water stains. Nice contrasting and classic color combination. Gold metal clock surround is in excellent condition with not rust or tarnish.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without an external antenna.
KNOBS: Original factory matching tuning and volume dials work fine. Securely attached. Original matching ivory color clock function knobs.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: The clock works quietly and keeps accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio or radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front clock face gray blue painted back panel is clean no dents or dings, not warped, no water stains no rust.
LOGOS: Logo on the dial face is crisp and clear.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CORD: New replacement power cord is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board intact excellent condition.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
