Burgundy Swirl Marble 1953 General Electric Model C453 Musaphonic Vacuum Tube Radio Big Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: This is one loud and clear sounding beast. Larger than most designs. Usually, these larger plastic GE Musaphonics are cracked but not this one. Vintage 1953 tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by GE in excellent+ working and physical condition. No cracks, large chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded burgundy swirl color. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. Small chip on the corner by the on/off knob. This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. The working dial light indicator is nice and lights up from behind the tuning scale as you tune your stations. The knobs of this vintage tube radio are original and in excellent condition. The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Original power cord and plug has no cracks, or splits. Backing board has wire for antenna attached. Bottom factory labels are missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
