Nutmeg Brown Swirl Bakelite 1940 Motorola Model 60X1 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Deco Looks with a Sweet Sound!
DESCRIPTION: Manufactured by Motorola in the early 1940s is in excellent plus working and physical condition. This vintage radio picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. No cracks, splits, or missing bakelite. Original factory molded brown color with light brown swirl highlights. Not repainted no touch up or overspray. The knobs are original and in great condition and securely attached. The gold on the radio is excellent and shows little patina. Cute original bishop hat knobs! There is no missing ink, smudges, or rub-off of the dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Dial lights up brightly. Original red tuning dial pointer is nice touch. Nifty functional handle is solid and securely attached. Metal handle insert is slightly tarnished. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The replacement power cord and polarized plug is in perfect working condition. No exposed wiring on this vintage radio. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
