DESCRIPTION: This clock radio is another swan song from the illustrious and soon to be defunct Sears Roebuck and Company under Silvertone brand. Back in the day, Sears was like Amazon today with deep pockets and an itch to be all things to the consumer; money no object. So this clock radio has everything the engineers could dream up! It is low and sleek like the Pontiac Wide Track designs of 1959. The molded back design features a front ventilated slotted grill for heat escape! How wonderful! Look at the original factory sticker on the side never removed! Probably the finest surviving example of this model in existence. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Sears Silvertone in the late 50's in near mint condition. Cabinet is an original molded pink plastic. Not repainted no over spray or touch ups. None needed. No cracks or chips or major scratches. Very mid-century looking and very rare! Dual speakers. This radio is over 50 years old! The bottom gold foil logo is in pristine condition with no waviness, detachment, polishing scratches or rub off. The tuning dial works fine no slipping. The dial light lights up brightly! The power cable is securely attached. The original cord was stronger and better quality than most. The power cord is in good working condition. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. The clock works and keeps accurate time. The clock motor is quiet no buzzing, cranking, or grinding noises. The clock set knob in back works. The clock face has some water stains. The clear clock cover is securely attached with not broken attach tabs. There is a fine scratch on the clear clock cover by the sleep timer switch. The alarm set knob works. The sleep function works. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment with no pets.
