DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Admiral in 1946 in excellent working and physical condition. Radio wood cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, split seams, or major scratches. There is a veneer chip on the right side back edge. There are wood dents and divots throughout which are consistent with its age.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory constructed wood cabinet that has been repainted brown by a previous owner. No veneer chips, cracks, or missing pieces. . Tuning clear glass window is not cracked no major scratches securely attached. Tuning back panel is in excellent condition. Front tuning panel is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, missing or flaking numbers.
KNOBS: Original matching factory brown plastic knobs securely attached. The original tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logo.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial Light works and lights brightly.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used, lovingly displayed, or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is missing.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
