BLUETOOTH: Original vacuum tube circuitry is retained, repaired, and modified to play Bluetooth as well as AM radio. The internal circuit is not gutted. Repeat: the internal electronics have not been gutted and replaced with modern electronics. All modifications are reversible. In Bluetooth mode, plays Bluetooth wirelessly from any iPhone, iPad, Android, Huawei, Google phone, etc over 30 ft. Only through Retro Radio Farm, Bluetooth circuitry is completely internal and integrated with the original AM receiver inside the radio! No external plugs, cables, or peripheral devices! Switch from Bluetooth to AM and radio and back to Bluetooth with rocker switch installed on back panel. Pairs within seconds. No batteries to recharge! Sounds great! No noise from Bluetooth circuitry!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Emerson in 1952 in excellent working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded black Bakelite. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. Orginal factory grill cloth is in excellent condition with no rips, no stains, no loose edges. ALl original factory applied paint fillings in letters and numbers.
WORKING CONDITION: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Little dynamo.
LOGO: No missing logo.
KNOBS: The original black platics matchiung knobs are in excellent condition no cracks no chips.
LETTERING: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Red tuning pointer is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
SOUND QUALITY: There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of tolerance paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition with no rips or cracks and securely mounted.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABEL: No missing factory labels. Bottom factory label is intact.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. This radio was recently acquired from an avid collector located in Seattle WA.
COLOR: black, with nice subtle molding patterns, visually similar to natural wood or stone grain.
