DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Stromberg Carlson in the 1947 1948 time frame still in excellent+ working and cosmetic condition. The front grill cloth and slats are perfect. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are original and securely attached. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Picks up stations that other radios in my collection can not. Excellent art deco design! Big and hefty like an old buick. Original brown swirly bakelite cabinet is mirror-like glossy condition. Dial light lights up brightly! No cracks, chips, or major scratches. The knobs are original matching dark brown or black bakelite securely attached. This radio is almost 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the perfect Art Deco-ish type logo font! No cracks, smudges or yellowing on concave clear dial face. The back panel is in excellent condition which is amazing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
