DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Airline in the 1949 timeframe still in excellent+ working condition. No cracks, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! The front grill mesh fabric is original. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Original ivory repainted bakelite cabinet is flawless mirror-like glossy condition. It's hard to photograph reflections off a white surface. New dial light has been installed and lights up brightly. The knobs are original matching gold translucent plastic or bakelite securely attached. This radio is over 60 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Not sure if this model came with dial glass but I suspect not after seeing a similar model on radioatticarchives.com which also doesn't have a dial glass. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The back panel is in excellent condition. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
