Powder Pink 1957 Arvin Model 51R32 Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Rare Model Unusual Design! Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Another rare and quirky but appealing design from the brainchild of Arvin. If you're looking for off-brand anomalies in the vintage radio genre, Mr Arvin is your man! Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio manufactured by Arvin in 1957 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded light pink plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. There is a light thin hairline heat crack on top. A heat shield has been fabricated and attached underneath to prevent further heat cracking. The original front clock clear cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, warping or major scratches.
KNOBS: Original matching volume and tuning knobs in excellent condition with no cracks, or chips or warping. No broken attach posts. Original matching clear clock function knobs yellowed with age.
LOGO: Arvin black factory painted raised logo is in excellent condition. No chipped letters.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor has no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. The clock and tuning numbers are not rubbed off. Clear clock cover is securely attached. Clock gold foil back panel is in excellent condition with no rust, stains or peeling. Clock and radio function lettering is clear and readable.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact securely attached. All factory printing is readable.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
