DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM vintage radio manufactured by Arvin in 1957 in excellent plus physical and working condition. Very rare model in a very rare color.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in excellent plus condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded avocado green color through and through. Not painted. No touch up no over spray. The clear plastic clock cover is in excellent plus condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. The clock back panel is in excellent condition with no rust, fading or stains. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial numbers or marks.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
KNOBS: The original factory matching black plastic knobs are in excellent condition. The little clear clock knob is original, ambered with age, and securely attached.
LOGO: The Arvin logo is in excellent condition with no chipped off letters.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. This vintage radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: The original backing board is in excellent condition not missing.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is somewhat silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Faint motor whirring sound. Alarm set function works. Alarm works. Wake to radio only no alarm buzzer. Clock set works.
POWER CORD: The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
COLOR: Avocado olive green.
