DESCRIPTION: Nice little wood Philco vacuum tube radio. This little wood radio has a seasoned look like an old blues amp. Compact like an old shoeshine box. You can almost hear old blues or jazz coming out of this radio even when it's turned off! Rare as an old Robert Johnson photo. Portable tube AM radio manufactured by Philco in very good working condition. Cabinet is original wood that shows wear throughout. No wood cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original leather handle is broken off but included. Runs on batteries but this odd size battery no longer manufactured. Runs on standard household voltage. The replacement power cable and safety polarized plug is in perfect working condition. Original knobs securely attached. This radio is over 70 years old! No dial light not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine no sticky spots. Glass clear tuning window cover is original no cracks securely attached no warping some yellowing. Dial tuning graphics are mostly flaked off. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
