DESCRIPTION: If you are looking for the perfect mid-century clock radio to complement your mid-century modern aesthetic or loft vibe, take a look at this banshee! Built in 1961, this radio is in excellent working and physical condition. Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. FM Dipole antenna included but sounds great even without it. Cabinet is original glossy condition top to bottom. The clear front bezel is in excellent condition. Totally transparent no yellowing no cracks no hazing. Looks almost like glass plate. Awesome color scheme. No chips, deep abrasions or missing material. This radio is transitional and represents the last of the tube based designs based on the design graphics, use of aluminum, modern plastics coupled with vacuum tube electronics of yore. Very cool and usable everyday. The clear tuning dial is not missing center metal inserts. This radio is over 50 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping or sticky spots. Both AM and FM tuning dials rotate in unison. Very nice! Not dial light not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge. Original power cable is securely attached no breaks, splits, or exposed wiring. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
